Regis Foster
Regis Foster - Inclusion-Focused Teacher and Administrator
Regis Foster is a longtime New York state educator who held responsibilities as a social studies and special education teacher from 2003 to 2023. Courses he instructed in his inclusive Port Jervis City High School classroom included economics and government, American history, and global history. Regis Foster designed and implemented behavior management programs as appropriate, while staying in close communication with students’ general education teachers. He also created individual education plans (IEPs) and held IEP-related meetings to plan out courses of studies.
Mr. Foster’s professional background includes a past role as summer school principal for elementary school students. He also has experience as an alternative education co-principal. In this capacity, he coordinated a remedial and at-risk program for students in the seventh to 12th grades. His accomplishments include planning a pre-general educational development program. This supported special education students who were at risk and aging out of the educational system.
Mr. Foster is active with the Port Jervis Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, where he has served as lodge treasurer and secretary. He has a strong personal interest in strategies for fostering classroom diversity and inclusion, as well as the use of educational apps.
